NEW SHe-Box AMENDMENT

SHE BOX amendment

In order to enhance compliance with the POSH act, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Kerala have each introduced their own state compliance portals.

The Tamil Nadu government in compliance with a directive issued by the Madras High Court the government launched the WSICC portal which mandates the compulsory Registration of Internal Committees (ICs) for all establishments. The portal ensures transparent reporting, monitoring of inquiries, and compliance updates. Non-registration can attract a series of sanctions and penalties. Meanwhile, timely registration provides legal protection, automated alerts, and state oversight.

In Kerala, the POSH Compliance Portal requires all entities to register ICs and regularly update their compliance status. Its monitoring dashboard tracks the constitution of new ICs, complaint status, and the timeline for reporting. Non-adherence invites corrective and penal actions under the law. This essentially reinforces accountability and reduces litigation risks.

In Telangana, the SHE-Box Portal, initially launched as a grievance redressal tool, has been expanded under the SAHAS initiative (2023) into a centralized compliance registry. Employers must register ICs immediately after they are constituted. Failure to do so can result in penalties under Section 4 of the POSH Act and other legal consequences.
