PHONE COUNSELLING

Phone counselling or telephone therapy is the process of talking to a trained counsellor via telephone or any virtual medium to resolve emotional challenges arising out of beliefs, feelings and life problems. More and more people are finding that phone counselling is effective, convenient and cost effective. Phone counselling has just as much therapeutic value as face to face counselling. This method is becoming increasing popular because it offers privacy, and the convenience of talking to the counsellor at a time and place that is most suitable for you.

Silver Oak Health offers 24/7 phone counselling for corporate employees. The same psychologist is deployed throughout the employee’s counselling journey, ensuring continuity and effectiveness of counselling.

VIDEO CALL, WHATSAPP CHAT & EMAIL

If the client prefers, Silver Oak Health team will facilitate video based calls with the counsellor so that they can see each other while talking. This is advised only if the internet connection is reliable and the client has sufficient internet bandwidth to have a video based call without interruptions. Silver Oak Health has facilitated a chat feature on its Employee Wellbeing and Assistance Portal through which employees can chat with the counsellor before engaging in a call or face to face meeting.

The company has also provided a Whatsapp chat facility on its helpline number so that employees can chat with the counsellor wherever they are, at a time that they are free to quickly reach out to their counsellor. An email address is also provided to employees if they want to send emails to communicate with the counsellors.

FACE TO FACE COUNSELLING

Some employees prefer to meet the counsellor face to face instead of talking on the phone, chat or skype. Face to face counselling takes place when a counsellor sees a client in a private and confidential setting to explore a difficulty the client is having, distress they may be experiencing or perhaps their dissatisfaction with life, or loss of a sense of direction and purpose. During face-to-face meetings, counsellors are trained to observe your non-verbal communication like for example the expressions on your face, the way you are sitting, to get a deeper understanding of what you are communicating.

Face-to-face counselling is also offered at the counsellor’s office or clinics in major cities and towns in India. Employees can meet the counsellor after work or during weekends whenever convenient and this arrangement provides privacy if the employee prefers not to meet the counsellor in the office premises. Silver Oak Health maintains highest levels of privacy and confidentiality.
